Health Guarantee

We want every Maine Coon kitten from Coonie Companions to arrive in excellent health and become a joyful companion for life. To give you confidence, this Health Guarantee outlines exactly what to expect — and what to do — should any health issues arise.

1. What You Get

  • Veterinary-checked: Every kitten is examined by a licensed vet before going to its new home.

  • Vaccinated & Dewormed: Age-appropriate vaccinations and at least two rounds of deworming are included.

  • Health Records: You receive a complete health record with vaccination schedule, vet checks, and deworming history.

  • Parents Screened: Kittens come from pedigreed, well-tested parents, minimizing the risk of genetic or congenital issues.

2. 72-Hour Arrival Check

  • You must take the kitten to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival for a full health check.

  • If your vet finds a life-threatening illness or congenital defect that was present before adoption, you may:

    1. Return the kitten for a full refund, or

    2. Obtain a replacement kitten of equal value, or

    3. Receive reimbursement for veterinary fees (up to the purchase price).

  • Important: You must provide a signed vet report on clinic letterhead specifying the condition and confirming it existed prior to adoption.

3. 1-Year Genetic & Congenital Protection

  • We guarantee your kitten against serious hereditary or congenital defects (major organ failure, genetic diseases) for 12 months post-adoption.

  • If such a defect is diagnosed by a licensed vet, you are eligible for a replacement kitten of equal value or other agreed remedy.

4. What’s Not Covered

  • Common, treatable parasites (fleas, ticks, ear mites, worms) beyond what was already treated before adoption.

  • Illnesses or injuries resulting from neglect, accidents, exposure to disease after adoption, or improper care.

  • Minor or non-life-threatening issues (e.g. behavior quirks, mild diarrhea) unless specifically shown to be congenital.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct the 72-hour vet check and share the detailed report if any serious health issue is found.

  • Maintain ongoing care: follow up vaccinations, proper diet, safe environment, grooming, etc.

  • Notify us immediately (within 2 business days) if a congenital defect is diagnosed. Provide vet and clinic info.

  • If transporting the kitten, ensure safe conditions and minimal stress.

6. Transparent, Always

  • We disclose any known health issues in writing prior to adoption.

  • If a health certificate is provided at the time of sale detailing a condition, that condition is excluded from subsequent return/replacement claims.
